Last days in Orihuela

Image
Third post by Victoria Silja. Friday we started by doing some craft work, we painted tree cones, and then we got to see the palm trees grove which was pretty interesting. After that we did some videos with our groups and we played Kahoot. Then we got Erasmus+ certificates and then ate a lunch at a restaurant. I chose to eat meat soup and paella, and I really liked the meat soup. After that we went home and took a siesta, and then we got ready to go out in Orihuela where we had a lot of fun. I also liked that other people, not only the ones in Erasmus went with us, which was very fun!! It was so sad because it was the last full day in Spain, but it was a very fun night!!!

Final days in Spain

Third post by Júlíana Þurý. On Friday we met at 8:00 at school, we made Christmas decorations and listened to music. At 10:00 we walked through the Palm grove and we learned that there are male and female palm trees and the dates grow on the female palm trees which we found very interesting. When we were done walking through the palm grove park, we all walked back to the school and we play ed Kahoo t which we made earlier that day . When we were done with Kahoot, we went out to eat at El Rocío restaurant. When we finished eating, all the kids were excited to  g et your siesta because no one has done it since we arrived. That evening all the kids met and had really good evening.

Third post by Amelia. Hola! On Thursday, we went to Torrevieja. It was very hot that day. We went inside a submarine, visited a natural history museum, and explored the sea salt museum, which was quite interesting. Later, we went to a huge mall and did some shopping damage. Afterward, we had a meal and returned to Orihuela to hang out together. The following day, Friday, we attended a workshop where we painted Christmas trees, although none of us took them home due to our lack of talent in art. We then visited the palm grove, which was a nice experience. We filmed a video and created a Kahoot! Quiz, which we later enjoyed playing together. We had a great time watching the quiz and then had a farewell lunch. Later that day, we hung out together, and it turned into a crazy night. On Saturday, we all went to Jorge's house for  lunch with the kids and parents. It was a fun plan arranged for us.   We danced, laughed, and even cried; Jorge attempted to feed us rabbit. Eventually, it

Tour around Orihuela

Second post by Júlíana Þurý. Today I woke up very tired at 7 because yesterday was a long and fun day with the kids, but I was still very excited about today until we had to go hiking. It was still nice to move around and see the beautiful view on the mountain in Orihuela . We went on a tour of Orihuela to see this beautiful town, then we went to the old house of Miguel Hernāndes and got to know a little about his history, but I thought it was very exciting to see his childhood home.   We got to see a private school that was very beautiful and it was really exciting to see kids in uniforms because I had never seen kids in uniform in real life.   And then I had dinner and it was said that in Spain it is customary to eat 12 grapes in the last 12 seconds of the year.

Orihuela

Second post by Victoria Silja. This morning we started by going to the class with our hosts, me and Rocio went to economy class, and next we went to learn about the European union, which was really interesting.  The next thing we did was a tour around orihuela, we went to a catholic school, which i found very pretty and interesting! Mmy favourite part was all the details in the school church. Next we went to the Hernandez house and I loved the garden! And then my favorite part of the day was when walking to the next place Júlíana stepped in dog poop, which was very funny. But then we arrived to the cathedral which was very beautiful. Then before going to the wall museum we all sat down together and talked.  The wall museum was very interesting and its so fun to learn about this stuff.  And at home for dinner we had Spanish omelet that we made together with the host family and one Polish student.

Second blog by Sólveig Hjörleifsdóttir. Hola amigos.  Today we walked around Orihuela and visited a couple of museums in the city and a catholic church and we got to see their cathedral which is very beautiful. We visited the Miguel Hernandez museum and even his childhood home. I learned many new things about him and his life. After walking around the city and seeing all the beautiful things the city has to offer, we had some lunch at the university in Orihuela and then we had free time. Me and Ruben went home to chill as he likes to call it but this time of day is called siesta. Siesta is when the people in Spain take naps during the day. I also took a nap but then Ruben woke me up and we went to trumpet class together. After the trumpet class we went home and ate dinner which was very good. I am surprised how much food the Spanish people eat for dinner because its a lot of food. Then Juaqin and Óli and Nana and Jorge came to our house in Orihuela and we just sat in Ruben‘s garden and

Second blog by Amelia Zarebska. On Tuesday, we started our day in Spanish class. We learned how to say the basics in Spanish, but we knew almost everything because we are the best. Then we took a bus to Murcia. We walked around for a little bit, then we went to our first museum, Murcia Aquarium. It was very nice. After that, we walked straight to the 'Science and Water Museum.' It was fun as well, but we started to get a little bit tired when we went into the room to listen to a story. All of us Icelandic kids had fallen asleep, even Lilja for a second. Kristjana was not very happy about that, but we had a laugh. Then we split up, and us Icelandic kids went to hamborgarakónginn. Afterward, we got a cultural tour around Murcia city centre. On the way, us girls saw a Sephora, so we made the whole group stop just so we could go shopping. Thank you, Viktoria. Then we visited our last museum, Saint Clare Museum. By that time, we were really tired. Ruben and Nana swapped their name
