Fannar explores Icelandic culture
Post by Fannar Logi Waldorff Sigurðsson
The first real day was amazing. We visited the National
Museum, the university and went on an adventure with electric scooters. We went
to Harpan, the docs, the parliament house, the city center and so much more.
Before we went though we wanted to see all of Reikjavík so went on top of
Hallgrímskirkja and got many photos up there. After that we went on a unique
experience in the elf school. We decided that we wanted to try to have fun
every night after the typical program. So we went to Eldingin which is a youth
club in Garður. We all enjoyed it and so much to do for example ping pong,
billiards, darts and so much more.
The second day was really relaxing, we went to two museums
and didn't really get to enjoy Borgarfjörður. We went swimming in Keflavík and
played water polo and got ice cream.
The best day was definitely Thursday though. We went to the
docs and went to the oldest restaurant in Iceland. We then went to Fly Over
Iceland which was just breathtaking. But the best part was the horse riding.
Even though we couldn't go out for a ride outside it was still fun getting to
ride inside. Even though it was a busy day we went to the youth club and had a
blast. There has been so much that I have learned so much about cultures,
planning, how comfortable it is to sleep in the bus.
But if i had to tell you what's the best part about this, it
that you get to meet people and experience how similar and different our
cultural worlds are.
